| Yes | In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket? | ||
| Yes | Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions? | ||
| No | Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct? | ||
|
|||
| No | Do you support increasing defense spending? | ||
| I believe defense spending should be more efficient and responsible. Often times budgets are heavily padded with little oversight, justification, or evaluation. I think that we can right size defense spending based on budget justification reports and input from experts in order to make sure we curtail wasteful and unnecessary spending. In doing so, I think we can see a natural reduction in defense spending and a corresponding increase in other forms of funding to bolster U.S. interests. | |||
| Yes | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| No | Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| Yes | Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19? | ||
| Yes | Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards? | ||
| While I think that standards should come from teachers, members of local communities, and groups that work in education, I also think that some national standards will help make sure that all schools are catering to their students. Making sure that students across the country have equal opportunities may be in the form of federal education standards, and more importantly, in the form of the goals that schools have for students at graduation. | |||

| No | Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship? | ||
| Yes | Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts? | ||
| Unknown Position | Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)? | ||
|
|||
| Yes | Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)? | ||
| My top priorities reflect the needs of my district: expanding access to healthcare, investing in infrastructure including broadband, and fully funding public education - including public colleges, training programs, and trade schools after high school. These areas are investments that will yield financial and non-financial returns over time, but to fund them in the near term I support reforming the tax code to increase taxes on high income earners and corporations, pursuing taxes owed to the U.S. that are not collected, and implementing cost savings advocated by the GAO. These would be supplemented by long term returns. |
